Hope Lake: What Happened at this Boarding School?

Image
Hope Lake is a point-and-click adventure about a mystery surrounding the disappearances of girls from the boarding school, several years after the school had been abandoned and the girls grown up. The untimely death of the Governess plays a key role in finding out the mystery of the missing girls. You play as Detective Kelly Wells, who is determined to figure out what is going on.     I personally LOVED this game. Normally I don't enjoy hidden item games, but the way they use that mixed with how they also include puzzles and mystery makes for a great game. Some of the puzzles were easy, some had mild difficulty, and then there were 2-3 that I needed help on. Thankfully my boyfriend is better at certain puzzles than I am and was able to help me with those extra difficult ones.     I really enjoyed the storyline as well. It took twists and turns that I wasn't expecting and built up the world to make a very immersive fo...

Pudgy World: The Next Club Penguin?

Image
Pudgy World, could it be the next Club Penguin? Currently it is in pre-alpha, but I feel like this game will be a pretty good one when fully finished. Pudgy World is a free game on PC where you have a little penguin that you can play mini games with. They do have activities listed, but due to it being pre-alpha, they're still a work in progress.      One thing I like about Pudgy World Penguins is that they do have plush penguins and little figures to collect from stores (I got mine from my local Walmart). Each product comes with a code that lets you unlock certain items for your penguin in game. At my Walmart, the plush ran about $7, while figures ran about $3.     If I could change anything, I would change that you can buy clothes in game, and only certain items require a code to unlock. There is a currency, and as of right now, to "personalize your world" and use for event items.  They also currently have a c...

Start Survey App - Avoid the Ads

Image
I was SO EXCITED when I saw this game in the app store. But I was quickly disappointed... and disturbed. I've wanted to play this game since I saw some of my favorite YouTubers play it, but just hadn't had the chance. When I found this as an app, I was so happy, thinking I could finally play it. I was wrong. To start, this game is so broken. I couldn't even start to play it. There were so many ads, I got fed up with it before I could have a chance. However, I needed to review this still, simply because of the ads. The ads are why I put the content warning, because you need to see this to believe it.  This app shouldn't be downloaded by anyone under the age of (I'll be generous) 16, simply for the ads. Almost all the ads were extremely vulgar and sexual. Another issue was that I couldn't skip the ad for a good 15 seconds at least. This game isn't geared towards children, but a younger audience could easily stumble across it. I really don't see...

3 Dark Games from Newgrounds

Image
I LOVE Newgrounds. I grew up playing a whole bunch of different games on there, but as I got older, it unfortunately fell to the wayside, and I hadn't touched it in years. However, I recently decided to return to my childhood and pick 3 games to review for you guys! These are short, sweet, and simple games. I do have other post ideas lined up in my head, but I thought since Cube Escape took me so long to cover, I'd do something a little more simplistic. Enjoy! I will not be posting the links to any of these games. If you so desire to play them, feel free to look them up yourself. The Torture Game 2 Rated: A (Adult) Must be 18+ to play The Torture Game 2 is the only one in the series that I could find on Newgrounds. I couldn't find the first one unfortunately, but they both share the same basic concept. Torture this "person". Have you ever played Kick the Buddy, or any game like that? Well, this is the exact same thing, just with more blood, guts, and weapo...

Cube Escape Collection

Image
I was randomly browsing the app store when I decided to look up the Rusty Lake games. Unbeknownst to me, the makers of Rusty Lake had also made a few other games that are considered to be part of the Cube Escape Collection. I was pleasantly surprised, as I had heard of the Rusty Lake games before, but never played any of them.       This review took me so long, because I wanted to review the collection as a whole, since that's how I got it on the app store, hence why the sections are just quick snippets of review. The Cube Escape Collection is 100% free and fun for anyone who loves creepy escape games with beautiful art! You begin with Seasons and then follow the story cube by cube from there! It's absolutely incredible both in style and gameplay.     This review is based on my experience with the sections, so some other players may find certain more difficult or easier than I did. Seasons     Seaso...

Trying to make chores...fun? Laundry Manager

Image
Who knew chores could be fun! Well... at least attempt to make chores fun. Was it a good attempt? Eh, I guess so, for what it was; a laundry management game. To be calling this app a game is debatable. It has every aspect of a normal game. Bright graphics, aspects of gameplay, and in game currency. However, the gameplay is repetitive and laggy at times. I hate doing laundry in real life, and I only hated this slightly less. The only plus side is that you didn't have to fold the laundry, but that could have actually made the game more interesting.  My biggest qualm with this game is that it doesn't feel like a real game. It feels like a very tedious waiting game. You put the laundry in the washer and wait for the timer to go around. Then you hang the clothes to dry and wait for the timer to go around. That's it. That's literally all there is to this "game". I honestly think I'd have more fun watching my washer run, and it doesn't...

Update Time! 😊

Image
Hi all! I know posts have been rolling out slowly, but I promise, I have a good reason why! About a month ago, I started a new job working as a security officer for a local hospital. This has been a huge blessing, as it has provided me with more income and been a better fit for me. I appreciate you all having patience as I adjust to this new career, as it is mentally and physically exhausting, but also a different shift than I had worked for the past couple years. In addition to the job, I also am working on 2 much, MUCH larger posts that are taking me a while to complete, but I'm so excited for them! I think they'll be ones you all will really enjoy.  Hopefully life calms down and I adjust to all the changes quickly, so I can get back to doing at least weekly posts. Thank you for understanding! ❤️ Until then, enjoy a picture of my dog LOL
