About Me

     

Hello. My name is Kierst and I'm the author of Spooky's Playground. I started this blog to showcase my love of video games. I mostly spend

my focus on horror games, but still enjoy other genres of games. I started really gaming when I was about 13 years old and have been in love with it ever since! I have been gaming since about 5 though, when my dad got me hooked on the SNES. Currently I play on PC, Switch, and Mobile. I also play a lot of demos to review, to help save myself and you money before deciding if you should buy that game that has been bouncing around in your head.

     I'm twenty-six and spend my time working as a hospital rehab tech, gaming, writing, photography, and art. I love to study Parapsychology, Cryptozoology, and Criminology. For writing, I namely write horror, and for photography, I focus on cemetery and urban photography, and often go hiking to abandoned or creepy places.

I'm married to the most wonderful man in the world, and we have a fur baby named Cooper, as well as 3 hermit crabs: Vesper, Riv'n, and Wyn. I hope you enjoy my little blog!

We watched through the first level before we both realized we wanted to play it. It strongly reminded me of the game Fingered, which I've reviewed in an earlier post. In this game, you play as a police sketch artist, tasked with drawing the criminals described by their victims. Don't worry, there's no actual drawing involved haha. You go through each description, picking the option that best fits with what the victim says, then looking at the line up to best match your drawing. There are 10 levels, each progressively getting harder and harder. What bothered me the most was that it didn't tell you if you got the person right or wrong at the end of each level. Update

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of posts this past month. There's been a lot of life changes that I'll explain below. No more PC So my PC completely died, like wouldn't charge or anything. Dead, no hope. That's what the professional I took it to said. Thankfully he was able to pull my drive to save all my files and photos, which was my biggest concern. I'm working on finding a new one, but I'm not sure when that will be. Until then, I will be using my Switch and discovering some awesome mobile games! Surgery   So about two weeks ago I had to get carpal tunnel surgery on my right wrist. Unfortunately, I'm right handed. Basically, Carpal tunnel surgery, also known as carpal tunnel release, is a procedure that relieves pressure on the median nerve by cutting through the carpal ligament to make more space for the tendons. Times Gamers Passed Unexpectedly

    So in my last post, I talked about horrible crimes associated with video games. Well, I've decided to explore the other dark side of that; unexpected deaths. This post will mostly be focusing on untimely deaths of beloved gamers, due to video games. I will only be covering a small handful of these cases, but you can easily find other cases online. Again, a trigger warning is in place for this post, as it still contains content that some readers may find distressing. Also, if you read any, read Calvin Riley's case. You may just be able to help bring an unknown killer to justice. Hsieh     Hsieh, his surname, was a 32 year old gamer from Taiwan. He lived in the second largest city, Kaohsiung. He spent much of his time at internet cafes, and his family stated that he often would disappear for 2-3 days to spend time at these cafes, as he was unemployed and felt this was the only place he could go.
