31 Days of Spooks: Day 19 & 20
Hi everyone, you don’t know who I am, but I am Vaytorra Kierst’s fiancé, and she’s been struggling keeping up with the 31 days of spooks, so I’m going to try and help out. I chose to play The WereCleaner; it’s a short game where you’re a janitor who works at an office building with your trusty water sprayer and vacuum to clean up messes. Rent is due soon, so you’re working extra. But what’s this? You have to work mandatory unpaid overtime at night. Doesn’t seem too bad, but did I mention you’re a werewolf? While running around cleaning, you have to now avoid the other workers at night. If caught, you go into a bloodthirsty rampage and kill them. You now can pick up or eat the body. By eating it, you make a mess and have to clean it up. You do have a timer for each level, so don’t slack too much. Also, Daryl, the security guard, knows something is up if it’s an animal or a beast in the office. He doesn’t know it’s you, but he’s determined to find out. The game consists of seven levels, Monday-Sunday, and they range from 2-3 messes scattered around the map. The coworkers do sit at desks or their stations and do work but not for long, and keep track of their timer. The cleaning ranges from spills to just trash or pests. Don’t worry if you kill your colleagues; it doesn’t affect the story, just less stars you get when finishing the level. The further you progress, the more Daryl does get on edge about what’s happening. The game ends with Daryl reviewing hidden camera footage of you as a werewolf cleaning messes and processing to monologue about how upset he is at you and how he has a werewolf detector on a gun and proceeds to hunt you down. But regardless, you still have a job to do. Now you must dodge coworkers, clean messes, and avoid Daryl as he tries to kill you. If his detector scans you, he can find right where you are. So you have to try and stay out of range. Once you get done cleaning up the mess, you and the game go to the mascot room and sneak out the window while Daryl shoots a dummy you made. Daryl tries to follow you out the window but the rope breaks and he dies. But none the less you clean up the mess for it’s your job. In the end you got your paycheck to pay your rent. Overall it’s a fun short game with a good story of you just trying to do your job.
